A lighter roast keeps the bean closer to its original flavour, influenced by the soil and atmosphere at origin. These coffees tend to be sweeter and fruitier – perfect for an espresso or a cold brew coffee.
The roast characteristics are on the rise as the bean visibly darkens and expands, producing a balanced coffee with good aroma and slightly muted acidity. Delightful with a dash of milk, be it an Americano, flat white, macchiato or cappuccino.
As the oils are fully extracted, the dark brown beans take on a wonderfully glossy texture embodying the aroma and deep, bittersweet flavours of the roast. Holding their own with milk, they’re ideal for a mocha or a latte.
